Hello World!

The first post of a new blog always feels weighty... a manifesto of sorts. Being somewhat of a perfectionist especially when it comes to my writing, it's certainly a daunting task. First things first, the title. I woke up early this Sunday morning with the excitement of the very first winter snow. I've been meaning to start a new blog since my return from Israel which was a mere 5+ years ago. When the title "Superhero on a Lunch Box" came to me, I knew I was ready.

It's silly really but also quite descriptive. When I was a senior in high school in NFTY-MAR, I was voted "Most Likely to be the Superhero on a Lunch Box." I couldn't actually tell you what the honor was based on at the time- perhaps my love of costumes. In the last decade or so though, I have come to fully embrace the title and carry it as an immense source of pride. Many a time I have made my own dreams come true, many a time I have fought for justice, and many a time I have taken risks and pursued confidently the life I have imagined for myself. Though I must admit, most of it is completely made up as I go along my journey. I just keep taking steps forward with a few leaps here and there, and it tends to all work out more or less... eventually. The key is a good tutu and amazing friends and family.
